Darm mit Aussicht
Your podcast about gut health, IBS, SIBO, Leaky Gut

Your belly is constantly bloated, and you keep having to go to the toilet, even though you just went.
And already in the morning after waking up, you have stomach pain that increases throughout the day? You’ve started changing your diet in the hope of improvement, but over time, it feels like more and more foods are becoming intolerable.
This is how many people feel who suffer from conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO).
Additionally, most common diagnostic methods such as lab tests, ultrasound, and endoscopy—while all very important and essential parts of diagnostics—do not provide results in this case. As a result, symptoms are often dismissed as psychosomatic.
In this podcast, I want to share knowledge with you about these topics—how our digestion works and why it sometimes doesn’t. We will explore various aspects of functional digestive disorders, look into the underlying causes, and discuss how diet and stress influence them.

IBS
Abdominal pain, bloating, and bowel movement issues characterize the exclusion diagnosis of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

small intestinal bacterial overgrowth
Also known as SIBO. Here, we find an overgrowth of bacteria in the small intestine. This can cause severe abdominal pain, bloating without gas relief, and, in some cases, severe constipation or diarrhea.

Microbiome
The term microbiome encompasses all bacteria, fungi, and viruses within us. They have a greater impact on our health than you might think.

Nutrition
You train your bacteria with what you eat. And your bacteria love foods that cause bloating.

Allergies & Intolerances
Your immune system can overreact to food, including in cases of leaky gut syndrome. With intolerances, a substance cannot be properly broken down or absorbed.

Mindset
Your gut and brain are closely connected and influence each other. This gut-brain axis can also lead to mood changes when your gut is out of balance.
